Great kit…cat training fun!

Who knew cat training could be so fun?!?! My cat learned immediately to come when his name is called. He is now getting used to a harness and leash. He LOVES training time, and it’s fun for both of us. The wand clicker is magic. My cat follows it like the Pied Piper.

WOW! It really works!

So it turns out my little cat is really smart and can learn a whole bunch of tricks in a really short amount of time if I just use this clicker. It’s so easy to use. I just slide it on my finger with the little ring attached to it and it sits comfortably in my hand and whenever he does the desirable action, I simply push the button and it registers in his tiny cat brain that that’s a good thing. It’s lightweight and I hardly notice it in my hand. The ring attached to it makes it super simple to hold on to. And JoJo loves the blue color.Even after he’s got a trick mastered and will carry it out by voice command, I still use it from time to time to reinforce and keep him used to hearing that sound for when I’m trying to teach him an additional trick.I’ve been using it steadily for about a year now and it’s holding up nicely. Great investment for the few pennies that it cost me. If it ever wore out, I would buy another one.

From Couch Potato to Cat-Fu Master

Meet Luna, my previously-unmotivated house panther. Scratching post aficionado? Check. Countertop connoisseur? Absolutely. Master of the "stare until you feed me" technique? Grand champion. But when it came to anything resembling actual activity, Luna was more of a furry floor ornament. Enter the CAT SCHOOL Clicker Training Kit, my weapon of choice in Operation: Motivated Meow-Meow.The Kit:- Clicker: Sleek blue and satisfyingly clicky, it quickly became Luna's Pavlovian dinner bell.- Target Stick: Retractable and topped with an irresistible feathery tip, it was basically catnip on a stick.- Instruction Booklet: Clear, concise, and filled with adorable illustrations, it made even a clicker training newbie like me feel like I could whip Luna into shape (figuratively, of course).Training Tails:- Luna was clicker-curious from the get-go. That distinct sound had her ears perked and whiskers twitching, eager to figure out how to make the magic treat dispenser go off.- The target stick was pure genius. Luna's inner hunter instincts kicked in, transforming her into a feathery-tip-chasing ninja. This made teaching basic commands like "come" and "sit" a total breeze.- The booklet was our training bible. Step-by-step instructions, positive reinforcement tips, and even troubleshooting advice – it had everything we needed to become a clicker-training dream team. From Zero to Meow-gician:Within a week, Luna went from couch potato to mini-meow-gician. "High five"? Nailed it. "Sit"? Like a furry Buddha. "Target"? Bullseye every time! Not only did our bond deepen, but Luna's newfound focus and confidence were a joy to behold. Plus, those mischievous furniture-scratching days became a distant memory (praise the clicker gods!).Pros:- High-quality tools: The clicker and target stick felt sturdy and built to last, even through Luna's most enthusiastic training sessions.- Clear instructions: The booklet made clicker training accessible and fun, even for someone who's never trained a goldfish, let alone a cat.- Positive reinforcement: This method felt natural and effective, building trust and understanding between me and my furry friend.- Fun for both of us: Training turned into playtime, filled with purrs, feather chases, and treat-fueled celebrations.Cons:- Limited tricks in the booklet: While the basics were covered, some more advanced tricks or obstacle courses would be a welcome addition for seasoned trainers.Overall:The CAT SCHOOL Clicker Training Kit is a purrfect five-out-of-five-star investment for any cat owner looking to:- Strengthen their bond with their feline overlord.- Improve communication and understanding (because meows can only get you so far).- Unleash their cat's inner circus star (prepare to be amazed by previously unknown talents).- Have a blast while doing it (seriously, watching Luna chase that feathery tip never gets old).Happy Clicking!

You CAN train your cat!!

I didn't dislike anything about it. My little 3 1/2 month old kitten learned to SIT in two days of sessions. Now I'm teaching her to spin and high-five. Plus, I love the clickers. If you like popping bubble wrap you're in! lol! Very satisfying. My Millie has bonded even more with me because of the interaction of the training.

1 month of Cat School free is the game changer

I recently purchased the clicker training kit on Amazon, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it came with a complimentary one-month access to Cat School, an online training platform. This unexpected bonus has truly enriched my training experience. The clicker training kit itself is fantastic, and it's been a game-changer for my 6-month-old cat, Onion. I've used it to teach Onion tricks like sitting and following my finger. But what made this deal even better was the free access to Cat School. With their step-by-step training guides and expert support from Julie, the cat trainer behind the platform, Onion has made incredible progress. In summary, I can't recommend this clicker training kit enough, especially with the added value of the one-month access to Cat School. It's an excellent package for any cat owner looking to enhance their training efforts. I've already seen remarkable improvements in Onion's training, and I'm thrilled to continue the journey. A well-deserved 5/5 stars!

Great positive Reinforcement Tool

I used this tool to teach my cat to move from A to B. I like that it is an all-in-one target stick and clicker and comes with a practical guide and a checklist for completion of assignments for each skill your cat learns. So far, it’s been used a lot and my cat and I look forward to our time together.

Have fun with your cat

I love this training set for my cats! While it's more expensive than other clicker sets, the booklet that comes with it is very detailed and useful. Before buying, try to confirm js you're cat is motivated enough to train by baiting them with treats to do simple tricks e.g. stand or jumping onto a surface.

Who knew my cats were so smart?

This has been great fun! My cats love the clicker with the pointer wand. They follow it around and jump or stand wherever I want them to (when they feel like it, of course). And they obey the verbal cue I combine with the clicker even when we’re not playing school. I have had cats all my life and thought this would be a waste of money because no way my cats were going to learn - but they DID, and it was EASY. It’s also a fun bonding thing and gives them something to do in the winter. Definitely recommend giving it a try.

FAQ's

What are the benefits of clicker training?

Clicker training uses positive reinforcement to reinforce desired behaviors. This helps strengthen the bond between you and your cat while making the learning experience fast and enjoyable for them.

How does clicker training improve communication?

The click tells your cat that the behavior they performed at the moment of the click is the one that earned a treat. This creates clear and consistent feedback so your cat understands which behavior to repeat to earn more reinforcement. Once your cat makes this connection and begins repeating the behavior reliably, you can add a signal to the behavior. This is how you quickly build your cat’s repertoire of skills.

Is clicker training mentally stimulating for cats?

Yes! Clicker training engages your cat’s mind and keeps them mentally active. Learning new behaviors and solving simple challenges prevents boredom and channels their natural curiosity.

Do I need to use treats with clicker training?

Yes, food reinforcement is essential for clicker training. If your cat is “picky,” you can use their regular meals as training rewards by setting aside part of their daily food for training sessions.

If a cat doesn’t seem food motivated, it’s helpful to look at their overall diet and feeding schedule to ensure they’re receiving high-quality, appropriately portioned, moisture-rich meals. A good starting point is to introduce food puzzles to increase engagement with their food.

Once your cat is reliably engaging with food puzzles and actively working to obtain their meals, they are typically well prepared for clicker training.

Can I use clicker training for behavior problems?

Absolutely. Clicker training can help address unwanted behaviors such as jumping on counters or scratching furniture by reinforcing alternative, more appropriate behaviors.

Cats who engage in these behaviours are often under-stimulated or bored, and clicker training can provide both mental enrichment and a constructive outlet for that energy.

How long does it take to see results?

Most cats respond quickly when training is fun and easy. With the simple, easy-to-follow training plans in the starter guide and the supporting tutorials included in the kit, you should start seeing results within just a few sessions.
